Her resume is too rich with numerous achievements that some long-distance swimmers can only dream of, but Dina Levačić (27) continues to push her limits and set herself new challenges. The magnificent Dina swam across the Bristol Channel on Wednesday afternoon, thus completing the original 'triple crown' consisting of the English Channel, the North Channel and the Bristol Channel.
She swam for 9 hours, 51 minutes and 42 seconds, in the sea with an average temperature of 17.5 C, without a neoprene, only in an ordinary bathing suit as required by the swimming rules.
This time too, she encountered numerous problems that she successfully overcame. The Bristol Channel is specific in that it is 27 kilometers long, but in that place there is the second largest tidal oscillation in the world, over 15 meters, so the real feeling is as if it swam 40 kilometers. She fought the currents, for a moment it seemed as if she was swimming in place, but she didn't give up. She fulfilled her goal for which she had been preparing for weeks.
Dina can boast that she swam the modern and original 'triple crown'. Modern consists of the English Channel, the Catalina Canal and the Manhattan Bridges.
