The first of a total of twelve organized sports - ecological - educational gatherings with children and adults, in Fažana, the last chapter of Ribafish swimming in the Adriatic began - the second part of the RokPoluotok project has begun!
This Sunday, the Children's Playground beach in Fažana on the southwestern coast of Istria was full of happy children who listened to a short story about the dangers of plastic and other waste, searched for hidden treasures, cleaned the beach and wandered around Fažana for some time in search of Geocaches. All this took place after three swimmers (from Croatia and Slovenia) swam the section from Galebovi stijene near Pula to Fažana itself, a length of 7,100 meters, early that morning.
"The sea was ideal for long-distance swimming, clean, transparent, with only a few jellyfish and those transparent organisms that are like melted gummy candies. And luckily - they don't sting. We covered a distance of just over seven kilometers in two hours." Said swimmer Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish.
"It was great to swim #rokpoluotok, the atmosphere is great, and we swimmers are always striving for new challenges!" remarked Tina Jeronmen, a swimmer and swimming coach of the Ljubljana ŠD Riba, who came to Pula for the swim with her colleague Nika, so Ribafish swam in the company of two fish from Riba!
About eighty girls and boys aged two to fifteen gathered at the reception. They were very happy with the gifts and hiding treasures, and the most happy was the fact that they got down to cleaning the beach without any problems and explained to everyone around them how we should take care of nature. The gathering lasted more than two hours, during which the grandparents socialized and were screen-free, so one of the main messages of RokPoluotok was learned - that balance is the most important thing for everything, and if the day is planned properly, there is time for everything. The children also heard that you should always talk to your parents in a nice way, especially about the less nice things, and that this is a great opportunity to meet some new friends. Kaufland rewarded everyone who gathered with free ice cream!
The RokOtok project continues its journey on Monday morning, when you will swim 8,000 meters to Barbariga, where there will be a welcome reception at 10:00, and then in three sections to Rovinj, where you will be able to listen and have fun at the workshop on Friday, July 27th at 10:00. After that, you will swim all the way to the border with Slovenia, so the people of Rokoto invite you to join in the swimming and, even better, to come and socialize!
Every child who comes to the workshop will receive cheerful and educational gifts, which, like the launch of the project itself, were made possible by sponsors Sport Vision Croatia, Raiffeisen Bank in Croatia, Kaufland Croatia, Hyundai, Croatian Tourist Board, Fina, Garmin Croatia, Lareto Food, Podravka, Rio Mare, UHU, and donors White Shark, Speedo Croatia, Dora Trgovina, Geocaching Croatia, Offset.hr, Fish Clash, Doppelherz Croatia. You will also be able to follow the swimming live thanks to Mire!
